Plagiarism
‘’Plagiarism’’, as defined by the Journal of the Algerian Chemical Society, entails the act of copying someone else's text or ideas and presenting this copied material as one's own work. To prevent accusations of plagiarism, it is imperative to both separate and clearly identify any copied text within your work, attributing credit to the source through proper citation. Plagiarism is considered a fraudulent act, with potentially severe consequences such as job loss, damage to reputation, and the assignment of reduced or failing grades in academic courses. The Journal of the Algerian Chemical Society vehemently opposes any form of unethical copying or plagiarism. In the context of manuscript submissions, plagiarism is deemed to have occurred when significant portions of the manuscript have been duplicated from previously published sources. The journal maintains a strict stance against such unethical practices to ensure the integrity and originality of the research it publishes.
The Journal of the Algerian Chemical Society has a stringent plagiarism policy to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. The key aspects of the plagiarism policy include:
Plagiarism Detection
Every manuscript submitted for publication undergoes a thorough plagiarism check.
Alerts and Corrections
In cases of low-level plagiarism, the corresponding author is alerted and given the opportunity to rectify the issue by rewriting or accurately citing the text.
Rejection Criteria
If more than 20% of the original submission is found to be plagiarized, the article will be rejected.
Original Data Inspection
Authors may be requested to produce original data for inspection by the editor upon request
Referral to Institutions
Instances of possible fraud or severe plagiarism may be referred to the authors' institutions for further investigation.
This plagiarism policy is implemented to ensure the authenticity, originality, and credibility of the research published in the journal, maintaining the trust of the academic community and readership.
